The Brief
Mei and Kevin bought this apartment for the view, then spent three years working around a layout that fought them at every turn — a closed-off kitchen, a dining table nobody used, and a living room too formal for two kids and a dog.
The brief wasn't a style. It was: make this apartment work for how we actually spend a Tuesday evening, without losing the view we paid for.
The Approach
We opened the wall between the kitchen and dining area, so whoever is cooking is part of the conversation. The original cold stone finishes were replaced with oak and linen — warmer underfoot, and forgiving of two kids and a dog.
Storage was built into every wall we touched, so surfaces stay clear without anyone having to try. The harbour view is now framed by the sofa, not blocked by a wall that used to sit in front of it.
