Our Philosophy
Renovation is complex by nature, but the reasons it goes wrong are almost always the same: no one owns the whole project, decisions live in someone's memory, and costs move after work has started. We built Aori to remove those three things, project by project.
Where It Began
A decade of considered growth.
2014
Founded in Sheung Wan by two designers who'd both left larger practices frustrated by how much depended on memory instead of paper.
2016
Moved from residential-only to include boutique hospitality, starting with a six-room guesthouse in Sai Kung.
2019
Fixed our project load at six a year — after a stretch of ten taught us what got lost when it did.
2021
Introduced A-Care, our one-year workmanship warranty, after realising most complaints happen not because the work was bad, but because no one felt responsible for fixing it.
2024
Opened our current studio on Tai Ping Shan Street — the first space we've had large enough for clients to sit with materials in person.

Runs material selection and vendor relationships — the person who knows which supplier actually delivers on time.

Site & Project Management
On site weekly for every live project, translating drawings into what the trades actually build.
